During the September 21st Kennesaw City Council meeting, the Swift-Cantrell Park Foundation (SCPF) presented a check for $40,000 to Mayor Mark Mathews for capital improvements to the park.

The money was raised through a series of events, most notably the Swift-Cantrell Classic 5K, and the generous support of Gas South. The money will be used to fund shade structures over the playgrounds and cover the costs of previous improvements made to the park.
