Registration has just begun for the opening race of the Kennesaw Grand Prix Series. The Swift-Cantrell Classic 5K, a benefit race that supports the Swift-Cantrell Park Foundation, will be held on Saturday, May 13th. The race begins at the Kennesaw First Baptist Church, meanders through Swift-Cantrell Park, and finishes in historic downtown Kennesaw. The fast and flat race is professionally timed and serves as a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race (GA1103OWC). Runners will cross the finish line into a post-race party in the City Plaza for the awards ceremony and celebration.
As the kick off to the Kennesaw Grand Prix Series, the Swift-Cantrell Classic 5K gives runners a head start on earning their specially designed Grand Prix Finisher hooded sweatshirt. Participants that compete in 4 of the 6 races in the Kennesaw Grand Prix Series will receive one of these limited edition hoodies.
All proceeds from the Swift-Cantrell Classic are reinvested in to special projects at Swift-Cantrell Park. The dollars raised from this year’s race will go towards a butterfly and bird sanctuary in the Children’s Forest. Enjoy the opening race of the Kennesaw Grand Prix Series while simultaneously giving to a worthy cause.

Can you tell me how many miles for walking one lap is on the outside track?
Sure thing, Ed. The outer loop is 1 mile long and the inner loop is 1/2 mile long.
I just moved my family to Kennesaw a month ago. Looking forward to joining some of these events.
