Each month, parents, grandparents, and skaters gather to plan and conduct a monthly contest for locals at our skatepark. This group of volunteers also selects a ‘skater of the month’ (good citizen) to award a cool skateboard deck courtesy of Ambush Boarding Company in Kennesaw. The group was formed by Ron Stebenne, public relations coordinator for the Swift Cantrell Park Foundation, to encourage a positive culture at the skatepark and give the local skate community a chance to have a voice and connection to their park.

Winners in beginner class: Emma Myers 1st place (middle), Caleb Williamson (red helmet) 2nd place, and Livi Myers 3rd place (cool shirt). Also pictured are our judges; Greyson Beal, Landon Brown, and Tristan Bresnihan with parent, Laine Dickson, supervising. Other winners in other classes include: Intermediate 1st Matthew Blockson – 2nd Hannah Myers – 3rd Noah Myers. Advanced: 1st Greyson Beal – 2nd Landon Brown – 3rd Tristan Bresnihan. Next month’s contest will be on September 18 and will be an Ollie for distance off the kicker ramps.
