‘Puss in Boots’ to Kick-Off Kennesaw’s Outdoor Movie Series

Families in search of a fun and an inexpensive night out together can head to Swift-Cantrell Park on Saturday, May 5, where the Oscar-nominated film Puss in Boots will be shown on a giant inflatable screen in the first installment of the City of Kennesaw’s 2012 Outdoor Movie Series.

Puss in Boots (rated PG) is a spinoff prequel to the popular Shrek franchise, and follows the adventures of the title character along with his sidekicks, Humpty Dumpty and Kitty Softpaws. The DreamWorks Animation film from 2011 features the voice talents of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris.

Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a blanket or comfortable low-back chair. A selection of food, beverages and snacks will be available for purchase. Arrive at 6 p.m. for children’s activities, inflatables, and giveaways. The film will begin at dark. Admission is free.

Parking is available at Swift-Cantrell Park, which is located at 3140 Old 41 Highway, and at Kennesaw Elementary School.

The Outdoor Movie Series will consist of three films. The second film in the series, Disney’s The Muppets, will be shown on Saturday, June 2.
