Beginner-Class

Beginner participants getting ready to compete.

Each month, parents, grandparents, and skaters gather to plan and conduct a monthly contest for locals at our skatepark. This group of volunteers also selects a ‘skater of the month’ (good citizen) to award a cool skateboard deck courtesy of Ambush Boarding Company in Kennesaw. The group was formed by Ron Stebenne, public relations coordinator for the Swift Cantrell Park Foundation, to encourage a positive culture at the skatepark and give the local skate community a chance to have a voice and connection to their park.

Winners

Winners in beginner class: Emma Myers 1st place (middle), Caleb Williamson (red helmet) 2nd place, and Livi Myers 3rd place (cool shirt).

The events also encourage young skaters to advance in their skills while providing a low-pressure contest designed to have fun and award prizes for skater achievement.
