On Saturday, May 12th from 7:30am to 9:30am we will be holding the 3rd annual Swift Cantrell Classic. The SCC is part of a 6 race series, The Kennesaw Grand Prix 5k Series. The 6 races are one Saturday per month from May – December. Each race is held in downtown Kennesaw and combined, are expected to draw thousands of runners and walkers. The course will be a 5k Road Race that will start at Kennesaw First Baptist Church, Run down Main Street, loop through Swift Cantrell Park and return on Main Street back to downtown.

We have chosen to do the race early in hopes that it will cause the least amount of disruption to our families and businesses on Main Street. The Swift Cantrell Classic is a road race to help fund the capital improvements at all of our favorite park…. Swift Cantrell. It is a Mother’s Day Race for More Play Space.

I invite you to get involved with the races. One of the best parts of a great race is the fans on the side of the road cheering you on. I would love to see Main Street lined with groups, families and friends cheering on our runners. All you need to do is wake up, go outside and cheer with some friends… make a sign if you are really feeling into it!  If not, just sleep in and we will be done by 9:30am! There will be a pancake breakfast at Kennesaw First Baptist immediately following the race and I have would love for you to join us, my treat, as a way of saying thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!
